Elijah Steele

Originally a native of Newport News, Virginia; Elijah is a May 2020 graduate of James Madison University. A Music Composition Major, Elijah specializes in custom designed marching band shows and drill for programs of all sizes and lives in Richmond, Virginia.

Independent Marching Experience

Elijah spent two seasons on marimba with the Independent Open (PIO) ensemble Dominion Storm Indoor Drumline (Virginia Beach, Va).

Indoor Percussion Instruction

Elijah founded and served as the director of Rockingham County Indoor Percussion from 2020 to 2023, and was previously an instructor with Skyline High School from 2018 to 2020.

Percussion Specialist Instruction

In the spring of 2019, Elijah served as a Percussion Specialist at Parry McCluer High School (Buena Vista, Va), and he also ran the after school Percussion Ensemble program at Strasburg High School (Shenandoah County, Va).

Between 2019 and 2021 Elijah instructed the middle school percussionists at Skyline Middle School (Front Royal, Va), as well as ran a percussion ensemble there.
